Documentation generation seems stuck what should I do?

Last updated on Nov 10, 2025

Short Answer: If 'Documenting X of Y files...' doesn’t progress, refresh and wait briefly; if it still stalls, contact your repo owner or supportindexing may have failed.

Prerequisites

  1. You see a progress message such as 'Documenting 7 of 25 files...'

  2. You have network access to the service

Steps

  1. Confirm the top header shows the progress message (e.g., 'Documenting 7 of 25 files...').
You can see current processing status.

  2. Wait a few minutes and refresh the page to see if progress resumes.
    Progress increases or completes.

  3. If it remains stuck, notify your repository owner or support (provide repo name and branch).
Support or owner can investigate indexing logs or re-run processing.

Troubleshooting

  1. Number of documented files doesn’t change for a long time.
LikelyCause: Indexing job failed, queued tasks blocked, or service outage.
Action: Refresh, confirm network status, then contact support or repo owner to re-trigger indexing or check logs.

Note: The UI indicates processing status; when generation completes, documented files will show 'Last documented' timestamps.
