How do I choose a repository and branch before selecting files?

Last updated on Nov 10, 2025

Short Answer: Fill 'GitHub account *', 'Repository *', and *'Branch ' on the 'Choose repository and branch' form, then click 'Continue'.

Prerequisites

  1. GitHub account connected to the app

  2. At least one repository accessible to your GitHub account

Steps

  1. Open the 'Choose repository and branch' form.
You see fields labeled 'GitHub account', 'Repository', 'Branch' and a 'Continue' button.

  2. Click the 'GitHub account' dropdown and select your account.
Repositories for the selected account populate the 'Repository' dropdown.

  3. Choose the target repository from 'Repository'.
Repository is selected and branch options load.

  4. Select the appropriate 'Branch' and click 'Continue'.
You proceed to 'Select files to document'.

Troubleshooting

  1. 'Repository' list is empty or stuck on 'Loading'.
LikelyCause: Network delay or insufficient GitHub permissions for that account.
Action: Wait briefly, refresh the page, or reconnect GitHub; ensure the connected account has access to the repository.
