How do I update status or assign multiple test cases at once?

Short Answer: Select one or more test cases, then use "Update status" and "Assign to" in the selection banner to update all selected cases.

PreRequisites

  1. Be signed in.

  2. Select one or more test cases using the checkboxes.

Steps

  1. Select test cases using row checkboxes or the header checkbox.
    A selection banner appears (for example, "2 test cases selected").

  2. Click "Update status" in the selection banner.
    A menu with status options opens.

  3. Choose the desired status (for example, "Passed", "Failed", "Blocked", "Fix ready for QA").
    The Status column updates for all selected rows.

  4. To assign the selected test cases, click "Assign to" and choose a person.
    The Assignee column updates for the selected rows.

  5. When finished, click the "X" on the selection banner to clear the selection.
    The banner disappears and selection is cleared.

Troubleshooting

  1. Bulk update does not change statuses or assignees.

    Likely Cause: Network error, server timeout, or insufficient permissions.

    Action: Refresh the page and retry with a smaller selection. Check your internet connection and confirm you have editing rights.

  2. Operation times out for a very large selection.

    Likely Cause: Backend processing limits when updating many items at once.

    Action: Update test cases in smaller batches or try again after some time.
