How do I change the sort order for issues (for example Recent or Severity)?

Last updated on Feb 23, 2026

Short Answer: Use the sort dropdown to the right of the search input (default "Recent"). Choose another option such as "Severity (High → Low)" to reorder the issue list.

PreRequisites

  1. Open the repository Issues page.

Steps

  1. Locate the sort control to the right of the search box (it shows "Recent" by default).

    The sort dropdown is visible.

  2. Click the sort dropdown to open the available options.
Sort choices appear (for example, "Recent", "Severity (High → Low)").

  3. Select the desired sort option (e.g., "Severity (High → Low)").
The issues list reorders according to your selection.

  4. Combine sorting with filters or search to refine the ordered results.
The sorted list reflects your active filters and search query.

Troubleshooting

  1. The selected sort order doesn’t seem to change the list.

Likely Cause: You’re viewing a filtered subset where items have similar timestamps or severity, so the order appears unchanged.

Action: Clear filters and try a different sort option to confirm the control is working.

Note: Sorting is applied to the currently visible (filtered) set of issues.
