How do I open an issue/PR to view code and comments?

Last updated on Jan 08, 2026

Short Answer: From the PR issue list, click a PR/issue title to open the Issue Level View where code snippets and the comment area are shown.

PreRequisites

  1. Signed in

  2. Access to the repository

  3. A PR or issue exists in the PR issue list

Steps

  1. Go to the PR issue list for the repository.
A list of PRs/issues is shown.

  2. Click the PR or issue title you want to inspect.
    The Issue Level View opens.

  3. Scroll the Issue Level View to view code blocks and discussion areas.
Code snippets and comments are visible and selectable.

  4. If needed, use the page’s action buttons (top-right or inline) to save, share, or perform review actions.
Review actions are available and ready to use.

Troubleshooting

  1. Code blocks are missing or collapsed.
LikelyCause: The view may be scrolled away or a collapsed panel is active.
Action: Scroll the Issue Level View or expand the code panel to reveal code.

  2. I can't post a comment.
LikelyCause: You may not have commenting permissions or a required field is empty.
Action: Verify you are signed in and have permission to comment; fill required fields and try again.

Note: Issue-level actions and share controls are typically available in the header or action area of the Issue Level View.
